note to self: when next frying ramen, toss the mushrooms in earlier so they fry more. Mmm, fried mushrooms.

I wonder if brussels sprouts will fry. Hey friendslist, anybody know cool things to do with brussels sprouts? There was a sale and now I have a lot.

Here's something my mom does (or saw on TV, I don't know). Chop up some raw bacon and fry it for a few minutes (or I guess you can cook first then chop), then set aside. Boil brussels sprouts in chicken broth for about a minute. Drain, and then add brussels sprouts to bacon and fry those together for about a minute or two at medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.

These aren't super accurate instructions but you get the general idea.

Or you could always just leave out the bacon and enjoy the sprouts after cooked in chicken broth.

Man okay brussel sprouts are pretty retarded, but according to my own personal philosophy re cooking, if you have any sort of foodstuff, you should be able to fry it. That is my theory.

What else would you even do with them?

Eat 'em raw?

Boil 'em?

Sautee?

That is all very silly ideas presented as jokes, because frying is how you cook (mushrooms).

Brussel sprouts are entirely friable. But AFAIK there's no such thing as a "cool thing" do do with them.

P.S. If you're getting the deep frying on pick up some brie. It fries wonderfully into a ooey-gooey tasty delicacy.
