I'm not sure that's significant (sorry animals, I mean statistically); they don't seem to have older/other data to compare it to. For all I know (and in this area I know nothing), this happens all the time. Silent Spring was written in the early 60s and all that.

I'd like to know the dates on which areas had massive deaths first, to see if it's... really a spread, or just a hyperbole from the media.

If it is a spread... That's kind of, uh. Terrifying.

I'm pretty sure it's M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening coming true. Next thing you know, we'll all be seeing dead people, fighting off aliens with glasses of water, and making progressively worse movies.
