Sweet Jezus, I couldn't put Hornet's Nest down to save my life. The second book is still the best, but all the day-of-reckoning threads are just delicious. Ganbare! /o/

Is it one of those "he left all the notes" dealies, or is there actually a manuscript? I do not generally take kindly to posthumous continuations...finally made myself start reading the end of The Wheel of Time, but the narrative style is just too disparate for me to feel like I'm back in the same world. It's making me sad.

Actually a manuscript, if unedited (but then so were the first three.) It's the next, you know, SIX that were only in notes and outlines.

Really? I felt Sanderson did a good job of capturing Jordan's style. Admittedly, he's more edited, but Jordan could really have used some editing near the end there...

That said, before reading The Gathering Storm I was reading other Sanderson books, not previous Wheel of Time books, so the obvious difference from his other writing may have been more noticeable to me, and the lack of similarity to Jordan less so.
