Lina: And that question demands the next one: who are the closest to breaking the barrier from ~the system~ into the ~outside world~, and thereby must be diverted/restrained/set against each other? Who are the duelists in the DCU, those moths swirling closest to the flame?

Lina: Or is it death? And those who've died and come back have broken out of ~the system~ in which others are so miserably trapped.

And his world was 'lost' when that comic series was discontinued, and he took revenge on the main-continuity DCU because their storylines were so dark and gritty and how could this possibly co-opt and destroy his happy fluffy peaceful universe.

Lina: Tim Drake is up there, esp. circa that time he tried to use the Lazarus Pit to bring back those he lost from the dead
Lina: because he had a lucid few pages where he took a good hard look at the world he was in and realized hey HALF THIS SHIT DON'T MAKE SENSE.

Lina: Depends what you're trying to do. If you're only trying to stop Joker from killing people, then it's the same old story, stick him in jail, follow the rules, follow the comic book formula. Fulfill your stereotype.
