(no subject)

Everybody's got their off-days in another language. Most people get the jitters in public speaking. And few people can switch fluidly and resourcefully between two languages with improvisation pulled in.

I still think it sucks that I froze up in front of the freaking Board of Education in my damn 90-second self-intro. What am I, fifteen again? seriously. Can I stop being a deer in the damn headlights now. I thought I'd earned that.

Dude, no matter how long we've been at this gig, self-introductions have always messed me up. I'm always like "....WHAT DO I SAY?" and then I babble out something incomprehensible and sit down. :c

Don't worry too much about it. I'm sure they realize you're nervous.

in a non-native language no less, don't worry. talking about oneself always means the mind is moving much faster than the mouth...

Yeah, that still happens when I'm speaking English. Sounds like you're doing great!

I'm always startled when somebody recognizes it. It's a rough-draft pastel I did last summer and apparently it actually looks like the guy I was trying to draw. According to other people, anyway.
