On the road again - travel thoughts
May. 4th, 2009 06:48 pmDoes Nagoya have a self-image problem?
Anyway. I stopped off at said city to get myself some cash, as the ATM by the station had been closed upon departure. Apparently no cash machines are dispensing today, thanks, Japanese holidays, and so I now set out on a small journey with very little solid money in my pocket. It'll be fun! I can make my way around.
Firefly's pretty good. Little full of itself, yeah. But pretty good.
Asakusa is clever! It has clever bits just everywhere. The buildings do clever things with external staircases. The streetlights have clever little wrappings of blue and red teenylights that are clearly carefully done. The main street may BE yet another hulking 6-8 lane monstrosity, but it doesn't feel like it near so much. Might be the plants, the median, the wide sidewalk, the buildings around. Not quite sure.
It's 18.46 and I really ought to go out and wander a bit more, maybe find some nightlife. But honestly I'd just as rather stretch my sore legs, enjoy my free wi-fi, and chill in prep for tomorrow.
Sometimes it's good to travel slow.
