To be fair, I also had my four bits of documentation filled out and at the ready, and I'm something of a preferred member in these things. Told the immigration officer in breezy Japanese that I had a re-entry permit and he bowed me right into the fast lane.

Two trains and some... six hours later, thank you inaka trains and your propensity to be stopped by rain, I am back.
And I have work tomorrow. What shall I tell an elementary school full of newly impressionable youngsters about my home now.
ps Tofu when left in the fridge for two weeks actually ferments, this does not emit a smell but boy o boy does it taste like ancient, crumbling death.
