Liveblogging Video Games Live

**10.50ish OKAY, that was beyond rockin. Wow. Oh wow.
Highlights:
- Kingdom Hearts with all-Disney video
- Guitar Hero competition winner coming onstage and rocking Aerosmith onstage, in GH, with the orchestra playing along. She (!) got a 95% and won a new AMD laptop. Meanwhile actual!guitarist was playing backup and belting out the lyrics with their opera singer, so much god damn win.
- Live-action onstage orchestra-accompanied Space Invaders
- Martin Leung - the Video Game Pianist - in Final Fantasy medley, the classic blindfolded Mario, and Tetris - AND accompanying the orchestra and guitarist on keys for the Castlevania encore.
- MGS and Metroid were pretty cool! Great medleys. And the host snuck around frontstage in a box stalking the commando with the lightup exclamation point.
- OH yeah. Mario and Zelda, YES. The Zelda medley was largely TwiPri and all stunning.

AHHHHH THAT WAS SO AWESOME YOU GUYS. So very, very fantastic.
Tommy the guitarist got a cowboy hat from AMD when they were handing the winnar her laptop, and he almost discarded it backstage before playing the next song, which, yeah RIGHT. Welcome to Austin, ser, rock stars wear their black cowboy hats that match their slick black guitars and that there is a rule. The crowd told him to put it back on and he did. 8D
Ah yes and he told us how in HIS day, encore-seekers would hold up lighters, but in a gaming concert clearly we ought to hold up our closest-to-hand backlit device: "there come the cellphones, hell yeah there's some DS, dude, do you have a LAPTOP up there?, the PSPs must be still booting up," x'D
and Squeenix needs to give these people video rights, like now. D< douchebags. I'm writing letters. DISNEY gave them video rights, Squeenix can most certainly give up something that costs them nothing in the name of free and unspeakably excellent publicity.
