Prince Caspian was pretty awesome. Lowering the framecount on the big swordfight for better processing was an excellent technique. Also, gryphon assault by night, Edmund rocks pretty hardcore with the stealth and the double-wielding, Lucy ruled a lot of it.
Before I ever was aware of the Christian allegory of Narnia, before I ever had any sense of the sexism or bias that seems so obvious to others, I knew and loved the Narnia books because they taught me something valuable: that magic can happen, and then it can happen again.
This sense was fantastically powerful in this movie. I enjoyed it. There were a number of small flaws; the credit sequence at the beginning was ruinous. But this movie was a good movie and I liked it quite a bit.
Also saw one of the huge posters for The Dark Knight with Joker, Batman and Harvey Dent holding their emblems, and Harv has an I Believe In Harvey Dent button just like mine and I cannot goddamn wait for July.
I continue to be wary of the power that movie will hold for a number of reasons now but it's still not enough to keep me from seeing it for myself. I admit also to a certain experiential glee.
