They CAME.
Mar. 30th, 2006 08:31 pmOne Piece Color Walk 1 and 2. My artbooks came in the mail. Eeeeeeee.
Oda-sensei is a thoroughly charming writer. Everything he says about his own work is simple, clear, and pure-spirited. It's as fun to read as it is to look at.
I especially enjoy the 'Early Days' pages, where he illustrates rough drafts of what the characters once were, might have been. Zoro and Nami are recognizable, and I can see where Usopp started, but all the protagonist-types? Look like Shanks. Cocky seen-it-all grins, enthusiasm tempered by a readiness to fight.
None of them have that happy, carefree purity that makes Luffy who he is. I wonder how long it took for Luffy to show up.
Scans to come for sure.
