Return to the East

Back. Charged up. Ready.

Life is fucking good.

Incidentally, best movie to watch on a plane when you're in the middle seat and the youngish men on either side of you are almost guaranteed to be watching too: FF7AC with joke subs. Bar none. Motorcycle swordfights + knitting jokes. I think I amused the shit out of both of them, nevermind the older guy who leaned over while in line for the bathroom.

Hahaha oh god Amnesia arc.

Here's what I don't get: why don't they just splice in old clips for the childhood flashbacks? At least for the bits where they couldn't get the old VAs or at least a decent match. Like Arlong. Because that was a terrible Arlong. Soooo bad.

Ep222 Luffy: *grinlaugh*
Me: Oh hey, it's the Movie 2 animators. Oh god I scare myself.

For the next two eps it went to the same ones as the Apis arc, that icky cheap look for the meager "fight" scenes and special effects that were basically a single transparency filter. Same authors too, I'm sure. Aside from the obvious Millenium Dragon connection, their Zoro was off in the same ways.

Overall not a bad filler arc, maybe a notch above Apis, but nowhere near G8. Davy Back was kind of littered with filler-writing too, especially that shit at the end about the mole-boy. Hideous. And repetitive, jesus, here I was thinking we were DONE with filler involving dipshit little kids. At least this last time said kid was the secondary villain.

And now in the next ep preview Foxy is back? What the fuck EW. COME ON, ONE PIECE. I know the good is coming, but I still don't like wading through bullshit to get there.

When I got on the bus from airport to college and pulled out the iMaTact, the randomizer picked my starter song. I hadn't even known it was on there.

Yeh. Life is good.

There was weird characterization in Apis arc, IMO, especially Zoro. The others were just superficial versions of their normal selves, but Zoro was like SAVE THE KID wut.

This is true, first ep was silly fun. Poor Robin.
